I've pretty much narrowed down my choices to the 07 Mustang. Now I heard that Ford cars have a reputation for being..."troublesome", but the Mustang from what I've researched, has received mostly excellent reviews.

I've never owned a Ford before, but the Mustang is just too damn sexy for me to pass up. Anyone care to share their thoughts on the Mustang? Problems with the car? etc...

I don't own a Mustang, but I do own a Ford product (and a couple of Cadillacs).
I am very satisfied with my 1995 Lincoln Town Car.

The trannies are notoriously bad (see below). Other than that and the starters, problems are average...

Motor Under Strain Transmission Almost No Good

I do like the new Mustang the best of all so far. I cant wait for the Cobra to debut. The Shelby was a joke. Next year they bump up the hp on the Shelby to 600 I think I read.

We have a 2007 Mustang convertible (Vista Blue). I agree, the 07 is a real looker. No problems so far.

If you drive really slow, the mustang is the perfect car for you.. I never get behind one at a light because I know that every car, truck, bus, bicycle, wheelchair and anything else around will out accelerate it..

I'm not saying it can't go fast, it just seems the drivers of them are the slowest of the slow.

I also wouldn't say the quality or resale of them is very good either. The 60's were classics and still are, but every other model seems to just disappear off the road after a while...

I think that claim goes to Corvette drivers. Ive never seen a group of people drive a car (a high hp one too!!!!) so slow. Poor 'Vettes! They dont deserve to be driven that slow.

the 07 GT is an awesome car - I don't have one, but wish I did. I wouldn't worry about the Mustang reliability - I'd worry more about how you'll keep yourself driving the speed limit and affording the extra gas you'll burn with the lead foot you'll develop. Seriously a fun car to drive.

ok, I just thought of this one and it MIGHT hold true for the mustang also..

My dad had an 81 Corvette when I was a kid and every time I took it into town (Ann Arbor, MI), I always had a police escort no matter where I went.. I seriously doubt that is true for a city as big as San Antonio, but it sure did in little Ann Arbor.

From the driving style of mustang drivers I've observed, I think it's all the drivers fault. I've had some try to "race" me and I could beat them with a 2004 Mazda 3... they had no skillz at all, ever..
and yes, I know it's not good to race and I only did it on open roads with nobody around. I wouldn't want to have the incompetent mustang driver anywhere near other motorists..

On the bright side, insurance rates are very attractive to enthusiasts who choose Corvettes for precisely the reason you mentioned.

Yeah, its a shame. Even the Z06's I see are driven like minivans.
