I have tried so many bottled and packet brands....I didn't like any of them
Now, I use a dash of pepper, salt, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar and lots of fresh herbs I grow, like basil, chives, dill etc.
Dang, that mix is SOOOOOOO GOOOOD, and so easy. Yummy!!!

The problem with bottled dressings is all the ingredients, I guess preservatives? So they will have a longer shelf life. We prefer olive oil and balsamic vinegar on our salads. Our favorite restaurant has a wonderful house dressing. We bought a bottle of it once as we were leaving the place and it was nasty. Looked at the ingredients and they use cottonseed oil. We asked a waittress on our next trip back if they used the bottled stuff on the salad they serve , she said no, they make it fresh everyday. I stay away from the bottled stuff anymore.

I notice a lot of people are into the balsamic vinegar-- I get tired of the same thing all the time, so I have started getting new vinegars. Champagne vinegar is what I am using right now. Basically olive oil, vinegar, chopped parsley, a little garlic, salt, pepper and if you like a creamy vinegrette add a tad low-fat sour cream.

Blend your favorite veggies, add onion, garlic, dash salt and pepper. Mix with enough mayo to make desired thickness' Add what ever spices you like. Try different spices and oils.
My favorite is 1/3 cup vinegar, 2/3 cup oil, 1 tsp sugar, 1/4 tsp dry mustard, 1 tsp celery seed, salt and pepper to taste. If you add 2 tbsp. of this recipe to 1 cup mayo it makes an excellent coleslaw dressing.
