Since we were out and about, asked DH if he was up to going out for dinner. He picked one of his Favourite places - BJ's Brew. He had a flight - various small beer samples. I know he's had at least two of them before. So, it's not like he was really trying them for the 1st time. I had the combo shrimp and Mahi Mahi tacos and ice tea.
We went to the Simply Slavic outdoor street festival, which is a yearly summer event that we have attended since moving to Ohio. Due to the pandemic, it was canceled for the past two summers, so as foodies, with a special fondness for Eastern European food, we were very excited.
Everything was delicious, as expected. We shared a variety of foods - Haluski (fried cabbage, with noodles and onions, Assorted pirogi plate - I had cheese and potato, potato and chive, sauerkraut, mushroom, farmer cheese, and lekvar, which is more like a dessert, stuffed with prunes. their version of a Russian salad - which was cucumbers, onions and juicy diced tomatoes. I'm not sure where they obtained these sweet juicy tomatoes - all I could think of was "August".
For dessert we tried something new to us Hungarian "chimney" pastries. I have to find the technical name They were so good.
I shared all of this with my husband and two others. The pirogi were HUGE!
We wanted to stay until midnight, but it was very windy and in the 60s. It felt more like mid-October than mid June. Unfortunately we were all cold, so we left early, missing the traditional dancing and bonfire.

Earlier today, on location in Seven Points, Texas, I stopped at Molly's Catfish Corner. Had me some fried catfish chunks, fries, hush puppies, crawfish tails, pinto beans, and Coca-Cola.
