Whew! Yummy, yummy here tonight. Love to read here. And how lucky we are to have good food to eat.

I had a cooking urge today and scrambled. Smoked Polish sausage and sauerkraut, escalloped potatoes, mashed rutabaga and monster-sized cranberry hazelnut scones with orange peel glaze.

Nothing fancy or complicated but some real comfort food tonight.

It was Plan A surf and turf. SO made a path to the grill, bundled up and did his thing.

Baked pork chops with some sort of crust, mashed potatoes, cheater gravy, buttered mushrooms, some vegetable and rabbit food.

Taking a short road trip today to the V.A. for DH to get his vaccination. We planned to use the opportunity to have a late Valentine's Day meal.

But I've done a little searching and it looks like some of our favorite restaurants in that direction have reduced menus currently - sandwich shop fare. That's the opposite of why we would drive there to eat. We like foods we can't get in restaurants here at home when we are on the road.

I do note an Original Pancake House and know they have good Swedish pancakes and lingonberries. Not thinking about spending evening prices for a meal of pancakes, however.

Don't know. Will have to see what offers itself. Taking along a Christmas gift card to Red Lobster our neighbor gave us.
