I don't have any Barilla in the mix; the only name brand that is in the mix is American Beauty; the others I think are dollar store brands. Usually American Beauty is the brand we buy most often, but we aren't totally loyal to a specific brand.
You're kidding me? Do you think I was being serious?
Today I mixed two different kind of grains (because what I had wasn't enough) and it was perfectly fine.
People need to experiment more to gain experiences and invent new dishes.
I don't remember ever reading what the box said, following recipes or having measurement cups - just use common sense
Recipes are tweaked all the times and new dishes are created.
OP - how did you do with the pasta??
I never heard of American Beauty pasta brand. Walmart brand?
Is it pink?
Most of the times I make my own pasta. Easy and the taste isn't comparable to anything you buy in a box, or bag.

American Beauty is a regional brand by Riviana Foods sold primarily in the western United States. It may be sold under a different name where you live. Other regional brands by Riviana include Ronzoni (the flagship), San Giorgio, Creamette, Prince, and Skinner.
elnina, it looks like American Beauty is sold under the Skinner name in Texas and most of the south-central United States if you were wondering.
