Everyone's on their own tonight, wife's working late and I'm not hungry and son's visiting his new teachers tonight at school....

More leftover BBQ tonight (weep, wail, I'll bet you all feel so sorry for me - NOT!) with corn fritters, fresh 'maters from the garden, and possibly a vegetable to be determined. Or possibly not, we'll see.

Nomoresnow, happy B-day to your spouse, and may he enjoy many more years of great eating with you!
LaceyEx and Kelsie, your leftovers sound as yummy as I'm expecting ours to be. Wanna trade??
Movingtohouston, my offspring are long past that point, but I share your joy at the liberation; enjoy the peace and quiet!
Noma, man, ya gotta get out of Hurricane Alley; I can't take the stress of worrying about friends like this. You be careful and don't play chicken with Gustav, now, you hear?

Not to worry about the big wind bags. We know how to hunker down here in the middle of the state. Living on a ridge without flooding as a danger helps too. Charlie hit us hard but no harm done to our bodies but the wallet is a different story. I'm so red with envy from all the folks who have fresh home grown tomatoes. As soon as I get back to home garden land I'm rubbing it in too. For now the best I can get are some imported from Canadian greenhouses cut on the vine. On the bright side I can pull fresh off the tree citrus...

I'm taking notes here! You're all making me soooooooooo hungry.

I bought an extra freezer the other day and Costco wants to make me a partner.

I'm just accumulating for the day I start to cook all the great stuff I read here.

I brought food for BF from take out and I had some mixed vegetables with a 1/4 of a huge avocado. Darn! It was so good.

For some reason I can't lose weight though. Don't know what it is!

BTW... Gustave? When and where is he?

I took thin chicken breasts and dipped them in butter than rolled them in ritz crackers and put them in hot oil..nummy. Very quick and easty. After they were done put a little sea salt on them. Also had mashed tators and honey carrots

Tonight we had grilled pork tenderloin with a lemon and garlic sauce, fresh cherry tomatoes from our garden, squash casserole with the squash from the garden, and bread and butter.

BF's sis is staying with us (it is like a slumber party in our loft ) for a few days b/c she is renting out her place this week during the DNC for $400 a night! Regardless of your politics, there is a lot of energy and excitement here now and it is neat to see.

Stay safe all of you in Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, etc.

it's been really simple around here the past week. My dh went and got crowns on all his top front teeth, (they were broken in an accident) and he is very sore, so we have eaten many breakfast foods and soups and grill cheese.

I just finished a 13 day menu and hope he can eat soon as the latter part of the menu introduces more of our normal dinners including salads.

Boy, three days not here and I have to read pages and pages and I'm drooling over every single post lol

Our trip into the mountains was great. We had very delicious food and spent a perfect weekend which was too short of course.

Not sure what will tonight's dinner will bring but I have seen so many great ideas I might try something of your recommendations.

I still have out of town guests staying with us......busy day planned. I got up early and put 2 chickens in to roast this morning...so when we come back this evening after a busy day......I will have a jump on supper. (Last night we had lobsters and corn ..... and some hot dogs to fill in.)

Hope you are all eating well.
