Nice folks at the local market made baked ziti for me. They do it well and when on special it's easy to convince myself to confine cooking to making the garlic bread Fresh strawberries for dessert.

This is the second time we are hearing about strawberries today.

I thought they were best in Spring. Am I wrong?

Strawberries are always the best!!

I'm making chicken sausage (sounds gross, I know, but I don't really eat sausage and do like this!), pasta, and grilled mushroom/pepper/onion/broccoli.

Tonight is spaghetti with meat sauce. Poor hubby is going to be exhausted when he gets home, I'm not even sure he'll be awake enough to eat. He got home at 11pm last night had to be back to work for gun safety classes at 8am (2 hours north of where we live) then he had to work. He should be home tonight at 11pm. Tomorrow morning he has to go back up early to qualify on the shooting range, luckily though he gets a couple more hours of sleep, he has to be there at 10am instead of 8 am, then he puts in another full shift tomorrow night. I would say he gets to sleep in on Wed, but he has to take me to PT at 930am. At least he will be able to take a small nap wed afternoon, before the dog and cat have to go to the vet.

Oh poor Elston! I can't stand when fish smell fishy ewwwww Enjoy your bean soup... HG welcome back. Sorry you spent NY in the hospital

I made frenches onion chicken... My problem is hub likes EVERYTHING WELL DONE. I on the other hand do not. I cooked the chicken 10 min longer than the recipe called for and he was still not eating it He said he was still full from lunch. I cooked 4 breasts so he could have the left overs tomorrow while I am at work... I put the chicken back in the oven. He wants it cooked well I just might burn it ha ha ha Mashed potatos and chicken gravy & corn on the side. I liked what little bit I portioned on my plate Maybe it is just one of those days..... la ti da........

There wasn't much champagne left over

Dinner came out very well (if I should say so myself )

Tonight I am soaking red beans and will make red beans and rice with turkey kielbasa. I am debating whether or not I will be ultra healthy and use brown rice instead of white rice.

I did purchase a smoked ham hock. I couldn't go too healthy!

I can't make the switch to brown rice.....I eat most whole grains and enjoy them....but rice.....I can't convince myself....I just don't like brown rice.
