Rarely, maybe once a week. Sandwiches and oatmeal aren't really cooking.

I work early from 8 am to noon. Hubby works 3pm to 10pm. So hubby makes breakfast on the mornings I work and I make it on the weekends. He does french toast, oatmeal, bagels, fruit and yogurt. I make biscuits and sausagy gravy with eggs and fried potatoes on Sat and on Sunday it's pancakes and bacon.

Not much cooking for lunch. Stuff like soup, sandwiches, hot dogs, pizza. I try to through in a fresh fruit and a veggie too.

Dinner, I say gets cooked 5 out of 7 nights. Stuff like chicken and dumplings in the crockpot, meatloaf or porkchops. The other nights will be something like frozen raviollis and a salad. But something is on the table 3 times a day 7 days a week most of the time. We eat out only about twice a mth.

I make my own breakfast and lunch nearly every day. My workplace isn't really adjacent to anything, so running out for lunch isn't typically an option, so I brown bag it. Eating breakfast is something new to me in adulthood, and I favor simple fare (a piece of toast and a boiled egg, a cup of yogurt, maybe some grits, etc.), so there's no real point in grabbing breakfast out on a workday. SO and I will go for a nice sit down brunch at a cafe on the weekend, for fun.

Dinner is more challenging...I cook for myself, but my SO, with whom I live, is very, very picky and rejects most simple meal staples. So he suggests eating out for dinner a good deal. On my own, I eat out less frequently. It's more a him thing.

I cook 4-5 dinners a week. Breakfast is usual cereal or oatmeal or the like while lunch is 50% packed and 50% eaten out.

Sad to say I don't cook much anymore...I really miss it. The smell of onions sauteeing in oil, garlic, etc. Very simple quick is how I eat, now that it's just me. Frozen entrees, raw veggies, cereal, oatmeal, sandwiches. I'd like to cook more and freeze some single servings (like a single friend of mine used to do--she was an adventurous cook) but I just haven't gotten there yet.

So do you guys feel like you are in the kitchen cooking/prepping all the time? Or it's just second nature and you don't mind?

Normally every late afternoon.
Except for the blazing hot & humid Summers. Then it's BLT...TBLT...PB...Egg Sandwich
Just won't cook in this heat. If it isn't too bad...I'll cook dinner early in the AM then micro it for dinner. Hubby doesn't mind one bit.

i cook Sun-Thurs, take leftovers to work for lunch, and we usually eat out Fri & Sat nights. and grab something quick from the apartment for lunch on Sat & Sun (sandwich, soup, salad)

prepping/cook time? i get home from work around 6pm and my bf gets home around 7pm and i usually have dinner ready by the time he walks in the door. so i suppose between 20 minutes to an hour. i used to hate cooking, but now its a nice way to unwind at the end of the day and now i'm just used to it!

I cook every night Mon-Thurs. Hubby, kids and I generally go out to eat about 2-4 times Fri-Sun.
We never, ever eat fast food.

i try to make enough chicken for a week in 1 shot. my pasta seems to last about 2 weeks. so i guess i try to cook once a week. the rest is microwaving and cooking my quaker oats.

as far as going out, i usually pick up panera friday night and go out 4 meals on the weekend.
