Tallahassee, is very hilly as well, just approach it within 20 miles east or west on I-10.

And actually quite a bit more beautiful than Central florida (my op)

The drive between Brooksville and Orlando on SR50 used to be really awesome before development took hold in the 80's and 90's, and after some hard freezes AND GREED killed the citrus trees (nothing stopping them from being replanted other than GREED).

Specifically the area around Clermont, Mt. Dora, Howey-in-the-hills, and Tavares were really nice and somewhat unique in Florida. Still plenty of rolling hills without development in and near Ocala, San Antonio and on US 301 between Ocala and Baldwin.
Yep something so few from Florida's flat coasts and urban jungles ever get to see. Minneola is another sleeper just north of Clermont. Northern Pasco about as interesting as it gets in this state especially around St Leo's/San Antonio. Mt Dora has such a New England type feel to it.. There is also a reason they named Lake County by that name further enhancing the charm of the area..

It is close to everything without being smack dab in the middle of the mess. If you want to deal with the tourist stuff you can if not the small towns around us are awesome and have a lot of things going on. So much to do here other than Disney. Beautiful Rivers are close, can go to either coast easily, Lake Ridge Winery has things going on all the time. Lake Louisa State Park is beautiful. Reminds me of the Hills in Ohio without the SNOW!!!! The pictures do not do it justice. Take a drive on I4 then take a drive on 50 or 27 and then tell me which you would rather do.
We were thinking about Oveido, so this info is good to know! Clermont seems really pretty too. We will definitly drive the areas when we take our family down on our "where to move" scouting trip next year!

There are some great pics of Clermont at the bottom of the page. I did not take them so can't take credit but they are nice none the less.
