Ok so we're likely coming down to Florida this summer for vacation. We're settled on either Tamap/St.Pete/Clearwater or Jax.

Suggestions on where we should go? Good vs. Bad? Which has better seafood, beaches, people, more affordable, etc.???

We'll have kids with us, but we're not looking to do all the theme park stuff, so that doesn't matter. Would like to find a rental for maybe $1,000/week at the most...Preferably a cottage/home, not condo or multi-unit type place, and of course as close to water as we can get.

Thanks!

I'm in the panhandle and I guess you aren't interested in these beaches (???) but wherever you choose, there will be some very nice, large condos available. You may be surprised how much more affordable they are especially now with housing and rentals being down. I wouldn't buy a condo now but I'd sure consider renting to save my vacation budget.

I'm not trying to change your mind...just save you some money.

Nothing wrong with the panhandle at all...We've been to Pensacola several times, really like it there also...Just want to try something new (Jax) or go to Tampa again.

Thanks for the tip, maybe I'll start considering condos also!
