John,

This might be the perfect time for you to explore your job options in Florida. There has not been enough snow yet to keep your income steady in Scranton, and despite the varied opinions on this board, only you can determine if Florida can be the right place for you. Why not ask some of the posters on this board, or possibly check Craigslist, if there is some affordable (and safe) place that you might be able to rent for a month or so? You would know first hand if Florida is a viable, and if it is, make the move. If not, be thankful for what you have in Scranton, and make Florida your favorite vacation destination. Good luck!

have to go with florida... i moved from philly to florida. i found while living here that the people are more polite, as i should say alot more respectful than the northern people (pennsylvanians). The crime rate is higher in Pa and i hated the 4 seasons. i love the beautiful 75 degree winters where you can swim year round, no shoveling snow, no raking leaves, and no covering the pool. I love the nice palm trees and the nice beaches. Pa doesent have a beach and the closest one to Pa is the dirty poluted beaches of the jersey shore. Where i live in florida im minutes from all the fun attractions such as disney, universal, the great water parks, and only 30 mins from the clean florida beaches. it felt good to get away from that crime ridden place!
