This Corrie World nonsense already has been debunked in post 11.
Only climate change deniers argue that ocean warming due to climate change with its impact on Arctic and Antarctic ice melt acceleration and ocean thermal expansion are not empirical realities.
<<
The total heat content of the world’s oceans (OHC) in 2019 was the warmest in recorded human history, according to a January 13 paper by Cheng et al.,
Record-Setting Ocean Warmth Continued in 2019 , published in
Advances in Atmospheric Sciences . In the uppermost 2000 meters of the oceans, there were 228 Zetta Joules more heat in 2019 than the 1981−2010 average; 2019 had 25 Zetta Joules more OHC than 2018 (a Zetta Joule is one sextillion Joules-- ten to the 21st power). “We found that 2019 was not only the warmest year on record, it displayed the largest single-year increase of the entire decade, a sobering reminder that human-caused heating of our planet continues unabated,”
said Penn State’s Dr. Michael Mann, one of the co-authors. The gain in ocean heat between 2018 and 2019
was about 44 times as great as all the energy used by humans in one year.
More than 90% of the increasing heat from human-caused global warming accumulates in the ocean because of its large heat capacity. >>

This is the Florida forum, right?....and this thread you started is about the rate of sea level rise, in Florida, right?...
Well, no tide gauge in the entire state of Florida....empirical evidence (your word)...shows any change in the rate of sea level rise
Global warming has had no effect...zero...on the rate of sea level rise in the entire state of Florida
....the rate is exactly the same before global warming.....and exactly the same after global warming

There is no global warming. We will see a 12ft rise out past 70 years on some parts of the planet.

You repeat this falsehood constantly, even after it has been repeatedly refuted. Corrie World is an inherently and deceitfully dangerous place.
<<About 30 years ago, sea level rise in Florida began accelerating. In 2006, the rate increased again. Now the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports that sea levels are rising by more than a third of an inch annually along certain parts of the Floridian coast.>>

Read about increasing high tide levels at Virginia Key's Biscayne Bay here:

Why are Florida communities already spending hundreds of millions to mitigate sea level rise if there is no problem?

LOL...you have refuted nothing......
empirical evidence is what is observed ...not some theory....not some computer generated nonsense....and not wishful thinking
..and nothing is more observed that actually looking at a tide gauge
and you continue to refuse to show one tide gauge in the entire state of Florida...to back up your claim...that sea level rise is getting faster in Florida
...you can't...it's not
What you have done is cherry pick the lowest sea level to start..and then claim by cherry picking that...sea level rise has increased
Sea level is not consistent....sometimes it's slower...sometimes it's faster...and that's perfectly normal
...cherry picking a time when it's faster is totally dishonest
You cherry picked 2018-2019 to show it's faster.....I can cherry pick 2017-2018...the year before... and show the oceans will be bone dry in 100 years...yes, sea level was falling that fast in those 2 years
One of the oldest and longest running tide gauges in Florida is Key West....1913-2020....107 years
...there has been no change in the rate of sea level rise....before global warming the rate was 0.81 ft per 100 years
....after global warming the rate is 0.81 ft per 100 years
sea level rise in Florida has been consistently 0.81 ft per 100 years...for 107 years
Key West tide gauge > https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sl...tml?id=8724580
The tide gauge at Fernandina Beach is just as old..... 1897-2020.... 123 years....again..no change.......0.71 ft per 100 years
Fernandina tide gauge > https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sl...tml?id=8720030

Here's a very interesting observation that I've never seen before that makes examining sea level rise before 1980 somewhat useless.
<<In addition, the new study found that during the 1970s, when dam construction was at its peak, sea level rise slowed to a crawl. Dams create reservoirs that can impound freshwater that would normally flow straight into the sea.
"That was one of the biggest surprises for me," said lead researcher Thomas Frederikse, a postdoctoral fellow at JPL, referring to the peak in global dam projects at that time. "We impounded so much freshwater, humanity nearly brought sea level rise to a halt.">>
https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php?feature=7731
Not mentioned in this article is that China has been filling some very large reservoirs, such as Three Gorges, in the last 15 years. Apparently, these new reservoirs have been offset by shrinkage in other artificial reservoirs such as Lake Mead and Lake Powell in the U.S.
https://coloradosun.com/2019/08/16/c...ll-water-cuts/
<<Since the 1990s, however, Greenland and Antarctic ice sheet mass loss and thermal expansion have accelerated sea level rise, while freshwater impoundment has decreased. As our climate continues to warm, the majority of this thermal energy is absorbed by the oceans, causing the volume of the water to expand. In fact, ice sheet melt and thermal expansion now account for about two-thirds of observed global mean sea level rise.>> Per the first linked article.
And past history remains irrelevant given the accelerating ice sheet melting both in Greenland and Antarctica. This will accelerate further if the solar cycle, as expected, moves off its current nadir in the months and years immediately ahead.
https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard...vity-cycle-sdo
Where do you think all this water ends up? Or do you believe that the world's scientists are lying about the accelerating rates of ice melt?
<<The records of Greenland's ice melt date back to 1948 and nothing in that record compares to what happened in 2019. The amount of ice lost was more than double what it has been any year since 2013. The net ice loss in 2019 clocked in at more than 530 billion metric tons for 2019. To put that in context, that's as if seven Olympic-sized swimming pools were dumped into the ocean every second of the year, according to The Guardian.
The new study, which used NASA satellite data to measure the size of Greenland's ice, found that in July alone, Greenland lost 223 billion tons of ice. That means for that one month, it lost what it normally loses in an entire year, according to The New York Times.>>
https://www.ecowatch.com/greenland-i...1#rebelltitem1
This NOAA article says that mean average sea level rose 0.23 inches from 2018 to 2019, much less than claimed by the Palm Beach Post. However, contrary to the falsehood of no acceleration in sea level rise in post 5, NOAA details the acceleration of sea level rise.
<<From 2018 to 2019, global sea level rose 0.24 inches (6.1 millimeters).
The global mean water level in the ocean rose by 0.14 inches (3.6 millimeters) per year from 2006–2015, which was 2.5 times the average rate of 0.06 inches (1.4 millimeters) per year throughout most of the twentieth century....
* Ice loss from the Greenland Ice Sheet increased seven-fold from 34 billion tons per year between 1992-2001 to 247 billion tons per year between 2012 and 2016.
* Antarctic ice loss nearly quadrupled from 51 billion tons per year between 1992 and 2001 to 199 billion tons per year from 2012-2016.
As a result, the amount of sea level rise due to melting (with a small addition from groundwater transfer and other water storage shifts) from 2005–2013 was nearly twice the amount of sea level rise due to thermal expansion. >>
https://www.climate.gov/news-feature...%20millimeters ).
The chart in this article shows that mean sea level rise could be as much as a foot or more by 2030.
https://www.wlrn.org/environment/201...her-and-faster
The column by the University of Miami's Harold Wanless, one of Florida's foremost experts on sea level rise, explains why sea level rise in Florida will exceed global averages.
<<This means that South Florida should add 35 percent to 72 percent additional rise to the GMSL projections. The total relative sea-level rise for South Florida by 2046 could thus be 2.7 to 3.4 feet, and within 50 years could be 5.7 to 7.2 feet. This is not an encouraging future when you look at elevation maps of South Florida or most any other coast.>>

Great job of cherry picking! Good boy! You deserve a cookie!
I haven't got the time to do your homework for you, but if you search a little more diligently & with more intellectual honesty, you'll find that sea levels are actually falling in some areas of the Pacific Rim...and in other areas, like the gulf coast and NE coast of N Am, the sea itself isn't getting deeper, but the rebound in the sea floor depressed by the vanishing ice sheet (2 miles thick!) that recently covered the area is bringing the whole "bowl of water" closer to the satellites doing the measuring, giving the impression increasing depth.
We should expect sea levels to rise because we still aren't "officially" out the the last Ice Age--We still have glaciers & polar ice caps present so we are technically in an Ice Age. As we should all know, the planet routinely cycles from Snowball Earth to Hot House Earth naturally....If you pay close attention to the longer temp history of the planet, you would get the impression that we are not warming in the long run, but cooling.
Even if sea level rise is accelerating a little lately (it does so cyclically), it's still only 1/3 to 1/2 as fast as it did when the glaciers first started melting rapidly 14 -12,000 yrs ago
BTW- exactly what is the significance of a 0.14mm /yr rise in sea level when the tide changes the depths at the coasts from 1-10 meters twice a day?
And while you're at it, calculate the volume of water in those Chinese reservoirs, and then calculate the volume of water covering the total sea surface and say, 1mm thick...Gimme a break.

WRnative is confusing beach erosion, with sea level rise.
I first started coming to Florida 45 years ago, and I've seen no sea level rise. There's beach erosion, and then they pump some more sand onto the beach and problem solved.
The best thing Floridians can do if they believe the sky is falling is to sell their car and bicycle everywhere instread, turn off the HVAC system in their homes, & stop buying Chinese stuff.
Until WR does those 3 things, I'm driving my monster Hummer, keeping the thermostat set at 73, & buying Chinese junk.
