well my employer was supposed to tell them - and we told them again today and the rep said (Intuit - i.e. turbo tax) that i was liable for Indiana state income tax. The first couple of paychecks this year they took out no state or county income tax then out of the blue this week they took it out so I was as confused as everyone.

I work remotely and moved from the DC area to Florida last summer. I filled out a online form saying I moved and changed my taxing locale to Florida. My employer stopped taking out Virginia tax and it is like a 6% raise and a lower cost of living.

The only problems moving causes for remote employees is when you relocate to a foreign country.

I receive a NYC pension from NYC. No NYC or NYS taxes are withheld. As a FL resident, I am not required to pay their taxes.

That's a pension, which has different rules. If you work in NY you're supposed to pay NY taxes, even if it's for only a few days a month or year.

New York is one of those states where they like to grab every dollar possible.

I too work remotely. The OP needs to make sure that his/her HR department makes his/her legal residence as Florida and reports to the government as such.
