My husband and I live in Florida and were wanting to rent out our RV that is parked on our property. Does anyone know how we would go about finding out about this? Is it legal? What about homeowner's insurance ramifications regarding liability, etc.? I've heard of people renting out their homes and moving into their RVs while remaining on the property, but not the opposite. Can anyone help?? Thanks.

How would it attract trailer trash? We would interview the people who would be moving in, so I'm not sure what you are talking about.

No matter which way you do it there is going to be the same legal and insurance ramifications. If it were me, I'd make an appointment with your insurance agent your first priority. He or she can answer those questions.

Thank you for your replies. I might add that there is no lender on the property, we own it outright.

Also, does anyone know anything about rental laws in Florida? We were thinking about renting it out for 6-7 months out of the year. Thanks again.

Some areas in Florida have strict zoning laws/ordinances. I would also check locally to find out your city and county regulations.

Just about every county in FL has a zoning ordinance against what you are trying to do. You can park your RV [if deed restrictions allow it] on your property but no one can live in it.
One call from a neighbor to the zoning Dept and you get a citation for a court date and your tenant gets an eviction notice

I'm just glad I don't have to live next to that.
