Maybe he works nights, maybe he just chooses too, why does that matter.

This has nothing to do with what churches are where. As I and other have mentioned in previous posts, there are some areas up north and Midwest that have stricter liquor laws.

You don't have to support it but you do have to obey it. You cannot force a commercial establishment to see you liquor at 10AM.

And that, I think, is the real problem here. An unnecessary regulation that stifles commerce.

I am not a huge supporter of these alcohol sale bans. I think they are silly. However, there are much worse regulations in terms of stifling commerce (like the laws regulating interstate insurance and banking).

In Florida now we still have dry counties. Want to bet who makes up the population there.

So being that we live in a democracy, if the majority thought the laws antiquated they could change them. Obviously the majority there back the law and if you are dead set against living in a dry county you can move to one of the 62 counties that are not dry.
5 of 67 counties in Florida are dry and the population in those counties are some of the lowest in the state. About 1/2 a percent of the total population of the state is affected and I am sure it is very easy in most of them to make a beer run to another county.

I would like to think of religious nutjobs only as a minority. Call me naive; it's just too depressing to think otherwise!

These laws differ all over the state. In Orlando they cut off sales of beer & wine at 2 AM and most clubs close at that time. They let you buy alcohol starting at 9 AM 7 days a week.

In Miami Beach which is party central they stop the sale of beer & wine in convience store & gas stations at 2 AM. However the cutoff time for alcohol at nightclubs & restuarants is 5 AM. They don't want people buying booze & drinking & driving.

In the city of Miami it's 3AM to purchase beer & wine & they let you purchase again at 9AM. However there are nightclubs downtown that have a 24 hour liquor license. The laws seem to vary even among cities.

Would you, by any chance, be drinking sacramental wine at church? Isn't that part of Catholic ritual? OMG, you law-breaker-you.
