Sometimes thats your only option, workwise or for shopping.
If i was unemployed and the money was running out i'd be more than happy to work at Walmart for Minimum wage.
Kyle i hope you never have to get to that place.

As far as basing a move on a Walmart job making 8 dollars it seems totally ridicolous to me. It is tough out there right now and wanting to move for better weather or opportunity is great. But i hope the transfer is not all your basing that on.

Yep. Target and Wal-mart are in the same niche, but wal-mart is a much bigger company, so obviously it gets a bigger target on its back.

At the end of the day, both chains are there for a reason. They are convenient and offer low prices for staples.

I had to work at Walmart about 6 months ago in Louisiana and can tell you that Walmart starts their employees out at 5 cents above minnimum wage for day shift and at $1 more then minnimum wage for night shift.

I was lucky enough to get a night maintenance job at Walmart right after they ended their contract with their independent maintenance company and was paid at what they called the highest payrate for non-management positions which was $12.05 an hour.

Walmart isn't as horrible to work for as many people claim they are. It all comes down to your manager and your attitude about work.

Walmart is hardly the only place that pays minimum wage. There are other work options where the company isn't single-handedly ruining this country. One can opt to be part of the solution versus adding to the problem.

That's called loss leader pricing. They lure you in the door with low prices on some items, then of course since one has found a "deal" the odds of buying more items seems like a good idea, good deal or not. Unfortunately most of "Middle America" worships at the feet of a company that has sold us out. Kind of ironic.
