I-49 is now complete from Kansas City to Fort Smith, as well as from Texarkana to Lafayette, Louisiana. Now, how about that missing link from Fort Smith to Texarkana?

As for Ft. Smith to Texarkana, well, that's some hard building they have to do. If you look at a topographical map, you can see why 71 meanders down the way that it does, because it has to go through the Ouachitas.
Personally, I'm more looking forward to the Tontitown bypass being completed. Getting out of NWA to the north and west has been pretty difficult. The Missouri-Arkansas connector checks off one of those, but the other needs to be done now.
I would also not say no to a Siloam Springs bypass on 412.

Yes. The most notable difference is the absence of semi truck traffic. We still have heavy ‘local’ commuter traffic during rush hour(s), but there is a very much noticeable improvement in overall traffic flow. I have yet to see any major backups (minus a lane closure or two due to on-going construction).
