I remember when a friend's father died. One girl showed up for the funeral in a short black skirt with fishnet stockings and high heels. She was about 25 and had a kid, so you think she would have known better.
Sure gives new meaning to a stiff in the funeral home.
I would recommend getting a pair of dress shoes--think about all of the things you need them for: funerals, weddings, holiday parties, interviews, (possibly work) some social outings like plays etc.
Definitely worth it--you can get some nice ones that are comfortable for like $50 at Kohl's
