Just buy it now while they still have your size.

You can usually get a price reduction if it goes on sale in another 14-30 days depending on store policy.

I usually shop at Marshalls and get the best prices.

lol. I'm sorry if you misinterpreted me. I never suggested that she should attempt to return the wrong size coat. Or the wrong color. Or hell a different coat entirely That would be entirely foolish.

My point should have been clear; buy the coat she wants while it's guaranteed to be available. Then if she was so lucky to find the coat (in the same size, in the same color, maybe even on a day when the weather is the same and the stars are aligned) on a better sale later, she now has an opportunity to claim the extra savings.

I worked in retail for a chain and the coats generally go in deep discount on New Years Day so we could make room for the spring merchandise.
