I am a 6' female with a very long inseam with very little in the hip or rear end section After trying every woman's jean out there and most being too roomy in the hips and thighs I have found that men's Levis 501 originals or mens Gap Originals fit me the best and wear the best too. I do own a pair of Gap boyfriend cut mid rise that fit well but they don't make them anymore. Many of the brands already mentioned were too baggy in the thigh and hip for me when I got the waist to fit.

Can you still buy the men's 501s? I used to wear them all the time, then I switched to women's jeans for a while, when they stopped making them with those tapered legs and high-rise waistbands. I started wearing my old 501s again, and it would be nice to know if I could get new ones, they're such classics.

After I started seeing Levis selling at Target, I figured their jeans were all crap now.

I picked up a pair of "original 501's" according to the label for hubby, didn't realize they were button fly (he doesn't like them) - he wears a hard-to-find 33x32 - got these at Macy's, hope this helps. (have to return them though - and it was no sales tax week)

One great place to get these are if you have an outlet mall by you. When I was at Sawgrass Mills in Ft Lauderdale, The Neiman Marcus, Saks, and Nordstrom outlets had tons of them for about $100 a pair

I'm surprised I haven't heard more about Lucky's. Lucky Brand is pretty high on my list.

I'm female and I love the original Levi's for their durability. I usually buy them at yard sales or thrift stores for $3.00 or less a pair. They also last for years. I got a great newer looking pair last week for $1.00 and they look great. I do a lot of physical work, building and landscaping, so I need durable and cheap. You never know when I might get paint or stain on them.

The Levi's from Target and Wal-mart are not the same durable quality material as the originals.
