I've never had to wear a push up bra in my life, so I'm truly asking...

Aren't push up bras, generally speaking, padded? If that's the case, nipples probably wouldn't show through...right?

I don't see the point. *pun not intended. Just don't wear a padded bra. Regular bras are thin enough that there is nipple pop up whether you want it or not.
