My friends sometimes make fun of me for wearing shirts that are perfectly good but say something like "County Fair 2017". How long is too long to keep wearing something like this?
I wouldn't know, i don't wear those.
I don't advertise other people's businesses for free and wouldn't wear that in public. Probably would just use for garden work, cleaning or sleeping. Wouldn't matter then.

A long time. Maybe off-topic but I was at Machipongo Trading Company on the Virginia Eastern Shore in May 2008 and I still wear their T-Shirt. T-Shirts from my honeymoon in May 1991 make an appearance now and then, as do T-Shirts from a trip to California with my then-fiance from October 1990. Really there's no limit.
There is a "Vintage Swap Meet" aka flea market near us once a month, and vintage clothes are one of the hottest items. It's fun to see young people digging through the 1980s and 90s souvenir T-shirts and getting all excited about their finds. It doesn't seem to bother them that they weren't at the event and in fact not even alive when it happened.
Decades! I have a few much-loved shirts from the 80s that are too small for me so I've taken advantage of the vintage booth at a swap meet to get similar ones that fit better
I have a stack of concert, college & event tees that I Just can't get part with. Now I'm motivated to wear them the rest of the month. Just because. They're all in great shape.
