You see this from women on social media such as instagram, facebook etc. a lot, where they will turn their lips into a kind of pouty lips, greatly exaggerating them; kind of looks like Jimmy Carter lol. Why do they think that's at all attractive?
Well...on some women, it IS attractive. But I've seen enough bad lip jobs to make me know I would never have my lips done. I'm not against cosmetic surgery per se, but I'll leave my lips alone.
Seem to recall reading somewhere that "pouty" is a rather obscure reference to engorged lips in another area of the female body (which suggests arousal) but not going any farther down that road on C-D! Haven't a clue otherwise.
If someone really wants to look like a carp, a duck, or like they just got stung by a bee, so be it. IMHO it makes a person look rather slack-jaw dimwitted or that they're a high maintenance, sulking piece of work most of the time.

The kissey face pose? Because it makes their lips look fuller, which is all the rage right now, while drawing the face over the cheekbones, making them appear higher.
I look ridiculous when I try to do this. I've got high cheekbones & full lips naturally & I can't seem to mimic that pose without my eyebrows going halfway up my forehead. I look like a surprised fish when I attempt making that face, lol.

You mean injections to make lips larger? Or posing for the camera? If you mean injections, fuller lips ARE often considered more attractive than thin lips, unless they go overboard.
Also, as a person ages, their lips thin. So mature women get injections to make them what they used to be. Some go overboard, though, ending in that duck lip fakey look.
Young women may regret the injections, though, if it's true what I've been told: that once the lips have been enlarged, they will shrivel or sag, when they return to normal, looking worse than before.
I'd think about getting lip injections, if I were sure they wouldn't stretch my lips out, and if it cost less. Just to plump them up a bit, not a duck/pouty lip.
The British satirical magazine Private Eye refers to the young mistresses of older prominent men as "The Gorgeous Pouting Miss.....". There's a true story at the root of it.
