It's not like they look good on women either, they are just ugly, period. But it doesn't bother me if people wear ugly shoes, I assume that they made that choice based on comfort and I'm all in favor of that. If your feet hurt, that affects everything else you are doing in a negative way
Someone in another thread made a comment that they don't look good on men.
I bought some knock offs awhile back after they were recommended by a female friend. She really thought they were a good look on me. I just wear them around the house and have never worn them out in public lol.
Do you like men in Birkenstocks or better to stick with leather flip flops or some other type of sandal in casual situations?
I think they look better than flip flops of any kind on guys. Flip flops to me say "beachwear". Birks don't. I think they're not quite as casual a look.

That's what my friend said. I have thought about upgrading from leather flip flops to some type of sandals but if it difficult to find decent guy sandals. Perhaps that is why many guys tend gravitate to flip flops.

I have a pair of high quality leather flip flops but I live a mile from the beach. I generally only wear them when I have my bathing suit on. I bicycle with bike shoes so I’ll sometimes wear them when I get off the bike rather than click around with the metal cleats screwed to the bottom of the bike shoes. I want toe protection so I’ve never had interest in Birkenstock’s.
I have considered getting Birks but not happy about the price. I do wear some rubber Nike flip flops around the house as they had lots of cushion. When I am out, I have some leather Cole Haan sandals that I wear and those are with shorts. I rarely wear sandals with long pants.
I am not sure if the discounted Birks are genuine or if they are illegal knock offs ( even though they have the Birk name). Daughter had some when she was in HS but didn't care about them afterwards. They also started to smell and I forget if she was able to clean them.
