I completely disagree. We used to live in a cold climate and I saw quite a few fur wearers. Unless she's tall and slim, nothing to make a woman look more like a fat sasquatch than a fur coat.
This is awesome! What a description. Made me laugh!
1. Aren't all opinions judgments?
2. Aren't you being "judgy" by accusing this poster of being judgy?
3. She didn't call other women Sasquatches. She said they looked like Sasquatches. There's a difference!
I stand by my opinion. And, no, I don’t think all opinions are judgy.
I only wear faux fur. I inherited a mink hat & coat from my grandmother. Aside from the fur “look” being a dated look to me, I don’t and won’t wear it for social/moral reasons.
I have a beaver coat i bought about 30 years ago. i've worn it twice in all the years i've owned it. the coat makes me very sad when i think of all the animals who died to make it. it sits in my closet getting dry and faded. dozens and dozens of animals died for me to wear their skin only twice. i should throw it out....

Don't throw it away, donate it...it could be repurposed into something more useful. The beavers are already dead...you can't bring them back to life. The coat may be appreciated by someone else and the lives of those beavers will be remembered a bit longer. It could become an heirloom. I have a couple of hats sewn by an artisan who salvages the fur collars off old women's coats and turns them into whimsical statement pieces. Everyone who sees them loves them. The animal that contributed is somewhat revived.
I'd probably wear real fur. My Mom has this fox stole she must have gotten way back...don't even know when, probably back in the 50s. I realize the way in which animals are caught is horrible, but I'm not a vegatarian & always loved leather purses & shoes, which I still buy nowadays, so unless I'm a FULL pro-life for animals, then fur is just another type of item we get from animals.

If you weren't in Texas, I'd say to give it to a homeless person to get through the cold winter nights. At least those beavers wouldn't have died in vain.

Or you could bury it, as civilization does with any beloved living being.
