I was wondering, which side of the ironing board do you prefer to use - the tapered side or the square side?
I much prefer to iron my button-down shirts on the square side myself; it seems so much easier and faster. I hate those ironing boards that have an iron rest on the square side; I would never use one of those. The tapered side I think is for women's dresses.
My house still has the built-in ironing board that drops down from a cabinet original to the house (1959). I use it occasionally to touch up the wrinkles that don't come out in the dryer or for a new top. That being said, I can only use one side of the board, otherwise I'd be squashed right up against the window.
Haven't ironed in twenty years.
Seriously.
Now I own neither an iron or a board.
They are worse than vacuum cleaners, which I haven't (thankfully) needed for TEN years!
That's what I was going to say....actually I think I have an iron somewhere but don't remember seeing a board in this house...been here since 2005..
