I still have my lime green halter prom dress. It was just a long dress, I wouldn't even call it a gown. It still fits me.

I remember those stores, though in my area where I grew up (Upstate NY) they were the 5-7-9 Shop. My mom and I used to hit their clearance racks pretty regularly when I was a teen. She also would get some clothes from there since she also is petite.

I got my wedding dress from there, lol. A white gown since we had to do a low-budget wedding 28 years ago!

Same size. At 18 I was 5’2” and 110 pounds. At 30 I am 5’2” and 118 pounds.

No idea what size I wore at 18. That was back in 1990 and I was actively ballet/dance training 3-4 hours per day six days per week. I think my weight then was around 105-110 lbs? I was tiny until I turned 16 (under 100 lbs), then finally put on weight which I hated.

I am 46 now, 112 lbs 5'5.5" and wear a size 4 in pants, but extra small in tops (pear shape). Smallest adult size was 90 lbs at age 38 and wore 00 or junior sizes. Largest adult size was 132 lbs age 35 and wore a size 10. I found my happy medium where I am now.

At 18 I weighed 124-128 pounds, at 72 I weigh about the same. I was 5'7", now I'm 5'6"

At 18, I was a size 3 or 5 in juniors. Now, at 58, I wear a size 4 or 6 in women's or a 9 in juniors. I'm only about 8 to 10 pounds heavier than I was then (I don't let myself get heaver than 125, ideal is 120). It sits differently after having two kids (and menopause). I'm a lot more muscular from weight training now, though. I didn't work out back then per se, just played tennis, swam and biked.

Oh gosh. I was probably a size 6 or so at age 18. Maybe size 8.

I'd love to be a 6 or 8 now... but I'm not.

And this shows the issue between mens clothing sizes and womens clothing sizes. This question has zero relevance to women because the size of their body and the size on the clothing label bears only the vaguest of relationships.

Bottoms were a size 0 and now a 4, tops were a small and now medium.

When my sister was in HS, about 1960, she was what was called "a perfect size 7" , 5'2" and 110 pounds. When her daughter was in HS 30 years later and was the same height and weight she wore a size 2. When my daughter was in HS 45 years later and was the same height and weight she wore a size zero and sometimes even a zero-zero.

I wore size 9 (and I too, shopped at 5-7-9 Shop) weighed about 125 lbs. Today I am pushing 70, weigh 150, wear size 10 on bottom and 12 on top (broad shoulders and large boobs)
