I go to college near Sacramento, where it only rains cold rain (rains only in the winter), and rain boots are very popular here. Is it just a regional trend? Funny thing is, it seems like only the girls are wearing rain boots. Very few straight guys wear rain boots, although I am one of them. I bought a dark green, 15 inch high pair. I found them to be very comfy and it seems strange that more guys don't wear rainboots; is it because knee-high boots look too girly? After all, my pair are guy's rain boots--the kind construction workers and fishermen wear. Are fishermen's boots too girly for guys? Maybe guys have fat calves that look bad in knee boots?

Do people wear rain boots where you live? If so, is it just the ladies who wear them?

Yep. I wear l.l. Bean boots and my daughters wear Hunter Wellies in fun colors.
I’ve not seen men in them unless they are working outside like at a riding stable and then it’s muck boots.
I live in the NW

People wear rainbows in the NW and the NE. Catalogs sell them in flower prints and different patterns, for women. Some men wear them, too. I bet in places like Maine, they wear them in the muddy season. But your question seems more to be about what length of rain boot men wear; calf-high, or knee-high.

Yes, Hunter wellies are quite popular, as well as duck boots and rubber Chelseas.

I’ve never heard of this brand. Where do you get them?

Bogs are popular too but not as fashionable. I don’t see many young people wearing them.

Yeah, sometimes. Most in this town just wear their Chucks/Vans/Nikes in the rain (why?) when they're not wearing sandals, because all the beach bums like to come out October-March. (Guilty as charged. I'm a sandals dude too.) I really only wear wellies if I'm at the coast and know I'm going to be clamming in bad weather, which is, like, maybe once every 12 years or so.

I just wear my waterproof leather Irish Setters in the rain. Way more comfortable and supportive than Chucks or those horrible rubber things.

Nobody wears rain boots here in San Antonio. When it rains here, it rains a lot, but we don't need boots for it. Sometimes people buy boots for their kids but that's just to look cute.

For the most part, no one wears rain boots. Some young women wear the currently trendy wellies, but once that trend has died out, we probably won't see any rain boots.
