They think they are hot and want everyone to know it. Maybe they are models enhancing their profiles?

Didn't even know this was a thing.

Kind of hard to feel worked up about it. Meh.

OK, I am hitting 70 and see absolutely nothing wrong. Each of the pictures have full coverage. No big deal. Most women who are active and wear swim suits quite often want to know they will not be flashing the merchandise as they play volleyball on the beach, swim, dive, ride wave runners, etc. Everything we do does not involve keeping "that little aspirin" firmly clinched between the knees( how many of your moms told you that is what a lady must do to look proper). Good God you can't ride a bike, drive a car, exit a car, exercise, etc. without spreading your legs some.

I think we're talking different things.

"Manspreading" is not a fashion pose, it's a description of men who take up more than their fair share of a crowded space (ostensibly because their genitals are just too big for them to sit with their legs together - even though they seem perfectly capable of sitting normally other times). Neither photo you showed demonstrates that.

So manspreading is bad but womanspreading is good. Got it.

I thought this might be a joke so I looked it up. You were right, it's a thing. Women say they believe it makes them look empowered. Nah, I disagree.

I personally have no problem with it.

If that is the case, it is just another extension of female insecurity. If you have to pretend you look "empowered" you're not.

And men who sit this way - is it another extension of male insecurity?

I don't care if and how they spread as long as they are dressed. It is modeling/marketing. Not sure what your problem is. Jealous of pretty girls?
