Female -
I don't time it. I do a quick glance to check my hair. Another glance in the car.
I don't need it when I comb my wet hair or when I floss.
Mirrors don't rule my life. Not anymore.
About 15 minutes when I'm getting ready for the day - hair, light makeup, contacts.
I have short hair so even when I blow dry it or flat iron it, it only takes about five minutes. (WOOHOO!)
I put on lipstick or lipgloss about three more times over the course of a day. If it's lipstick, I need to look in a mirror for a few seconds.
I glance in a full length mirror to be sure I don't have something stupid going on before I walk out the door.
When I brush my teeth I'm in front of a mirror but I don't generally watch myself brush my teeth - LOL. At night I stand at my sink and take my vitamins and apply skin care stuff too but I'm not generally looking in the mirror then either.
After a meal, I may check my teeth to be sure I don't have anything stuck in them- hey, stuff happens.
I use safety mirrors when driving but I don't sit in the car looking at my face in the mirror.
About 30 seconds in the morning when I brush my hair. Glance occasionally as I wash my hands during the day. Don't do makeup more than mascara/eyeliner/lippy once or twice a year for special occasions.
Not directed at anyone in particular - but I think most people would tend to underreport how often throughout the day they are in front of a mirror.
I tend to agree.
I didnt count the time in the restroom washing my hands, or reapplying lipstick (although that admittedly doesn't take too much time as I generally forget to apply it in the first place).
Additionally, when I'm getting ready in the morning, I'm multitasking so while I may take 30 minutes to "get ready " , how much of that is actually actively looking in the mirror - hard to say. I'm dressing, listening to the news (and perhaps stopping to watch if something piques my intetest), checking emails on my phone etc.
I don't focus on the mirror, but neither do I avoid it.
Female....long enough to brush my teeth and floss twice a day and comb my hair once.....so maybe 10 minutes for the entire day....probably not even that long.
Just long enough to say.... " Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fairest one of all."
To which it replies... " Don't ask me what I think of you... you might not get the answer that you wanted to."
