I do use a shimmery soft pink when I attempt to do my own toes, so it does kind of blend in. But I like when I get a pedicure and can get my preferred I'm Not Really A Waitress red.
I used to polish my own toes; however, I find I'm getting lazy in my old age. This summer I started going to the salons regularly for pedicures. I may do my own during the winter, I don't know. But I enjoyed the added pampering, so who knows. They look so much better when I have them professionally done.
My toes have only been polished the few times my friends cajoled me into a pedicure. I don't wear polish otherwise. I hate touching my toes or having my toes touched. I hate cutting my toenails as a result, and polishing them would just prolong the torture
I do my own when I feel like it...but it's not a regular thing for me.
Here's what I do. I put on/splash on/paint on like a 5 yr. old the night before. The next day, after my shower, I scrape the excess polish off of the skin around my nails. It works.
I've never been able to be neat when applying finger nail polish. Not to my fingers, and not to my toes. This is the method I use. LOL
At 70 I can still clip and polish my toenails but usually I don't polish them. I also put lotion on my feet everyday and wear socks around the house. Never had a pedicure, I have very ticklish feet that I don't want touched.

I can be ticklish, too, but I'm curious about how so many posters say they don't like their feet or toes touched. Is that from being ticklish or something else? Just curious.

Yes, it's because I'm ticklish that I don't want my feet touched, they are very sensitive. I don't know about other people but that's my reason. There's nothing wrong with my feet otherwise.
