]b]CBS has airtime.[/b] They need programming so that they can sell time to advertisers. Enter the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. It has half-naked women, so that attracts men. It is tangentially fashion-related, so women watch. It has popular artists performing, which draws people. That's it. There's no "reason," for example, to show the red carpet part of awards shows, except people apparently watch it in droves. The networks will put on anything that will capture eyeballs.

So, basically, to fill air time, you're saying? With something enough people will watch that advertisers would be interested in buying ad time on? Lame. Really lame. So in a way, it's just another reality show that doesn't require script writers, highly-paid actors, or anything expensive to create? TV is sinking lower and lower. People will abandon network TV altogether, if it keeps going like this.
