Since I was born with defective color perception (red/green color blindness), color means nothing to me.
However, to avoid clashes that only others can see, my clothing is usually only primary colors, and only deep colors, no pastels or mild tones. If I buy a red shirt, it is RED, not some funky off shade.
For trousers, I wear blue jeans 100% of the time.
Oh, and I don't care what any of you "normal" people say, there are only THREE bands of color in a rainbow!

Black, white, grey are the most common colours I wear, but I also wear red, green and blue occasionally - I have a khaki green short-sleeved shirt that I love, and some plaid shirts in red and blue.

I'm wondering what colors other guys wear. Is your wardrobe as equally limited?
Look, you can wear all the colors of the rainbow, but what good does it do for you if they don't look good on YOU?
So yes, as painful as it might be ( ) you'll need to go to the store, get in front of the mirror and put shirts/sweaters of different colors/shades close to your face to get an idea what colors/combinations look good on YOU.
Someone might suggest you a purple color, which might look great on someone else, just not on you.
And that shade of moss green might serve someone else better, but you might prefer a darker or brighter green ( just an example.)
So don't listen what looks good on others - go and explore what looks good on YOU)))

If you count shoes (white), then I probably wear every common color each month in the summer. Yes, even yellow and orange. I like clothes and color.

Over the years I have branched out and added lavender, greens, and browns to my usual black, grey and blue wardrobe. Certain colors just don't look good on me no matter what I try such as yellow or orange.
