jeans won't go away. Manufactuerers are already making them more comfortable, stretchy, etc. There's a whole new market opportunity. Look at Levi's "knit jeans"

Heck no! I'm too old to wear yoga pants out in public. No matter how much I work out (a lot,) that hail damage refuses to come out of my butt and thighs, and I'm sure not showing it off to the whole world Jeans forever for me!

Dunno where you all are but I'm most of what I'm seeing is oodles of millenials in skinny jeans from places like Urban Outfitters in Philly, NYC, Boston, DC.

Yes, I see yoga pants but it's not all-day-wear where I am.

Yoga pants are for yoga. Jeans are universal. Jeans come in a lot of varieties. Yoga pants look like you chopped off the feet off a pair of tights and you need to finish dressing.

Yoga pants look bad on 99 of 100 people. In addition, they are tight and some of us hate tight. Ten year old yoga pants with rips and wear are already trash. Ten year old denim unless its the thin stretchy stuff looks wonderfully classic at ten. You can buy any style jeans you want from some over priced 'designer' kind or the ones bought by length and width like real Levis. If its cold, you might wear your yoga stuff UNDER your jeans for warmth, but some real thermal liners will turn your jeans into all year wear.

Jeans have POCKETS. Yoga pants don't. And if they did you wouldn't want to use them anyway. Ouch as your keys get smusshed into your leg.

I've never seen anyone where I live shopping in yoga pants. Many in jeans, old/new/ripped/shiny/tucked into boots or not.

Jeans are the perfect companion to your favorite pair of knee high boots. Or Uggs. Or lace ups. Jeans and boots are made for each other. Yoga pants with boots?????? ugh.

Yoga pants may be used where people use tights but not ever replace denim.

I cannot find yoga pants long enough for me. Yoga pants differ from leggings, BTW.
No way I would go out in leggings.... leggings are not pants, but so many seem to think they are.

^^^+++1

Last week I went shopping and I missed the legging memo. Everyone was wearing them. Two out of dozen or so looked good. No thank you. Leggings and yoga pants are pajama bottoms IMO. I will live in my jeans forever.

I wear jeans every single day. I could not wear yoga pants or anything like them to work.

I don't think jeans will ever go out of style....too much of a staple.

That being said, I love my yoga pants. They are also a staple in my daily wardrobe.

It wont happen in this household, I'm a jeans girl through and through.

There is no structure to yoga/leisure pants, they are easy to wear but like other pants with elasticated waists also easy to lose control of your weight, those things stretch!! Also the rather delicate subject of umm larger ladies wearing yoga pants .... eeek !

I'm pretty sure this gal is comfortable. However she looks like pure crap. Jeans would be a huge improvement.
