A friend of my wife is always glamorous. She never leaves the house unless she is dressed and made up like she is appearing at the Academy Awards. Heavy Makeup, eye shadow, her hair done just right, fancy EXPENSIVE shoes, clothes and the whole thing. She is never casual, always glamorous and dressed like a movie star. Even on weekends and Holidays.
Seems like a lot of work, but BOY! does she look good!
Can you relate? Observations about people like this?

I don't know anyone like that, but I say KUDOS to her for wanting to look good at all times! Frankly I wish there were more like her, or at least somewhere in the middle (where they at least look clean and have nice well-fitting clothes and their hair combed, lol!)
Truthfully, I find this type of person a tiny bit annoying, although I understand it better than the person who sets off to Wal-mart in hair rollers, bath robe and fuzzy slippers.
One one hand, I kind of revere them mainly because they have the time to spend looking like that and are most likely go somewhere or working somewhere where it won't come off.
Unfortuantely, I work in Aquatics and spend most of my time in a humid area or in the water. Wearing makeup and trying to look fashionable don't mesh well!
I'm assuming some hyperbole, here. I can't think of any reason one would put on a beaded evening gown to go fuel up a vehicle, stop by the grocery store, swing by the pharmacy, and drop off a package at the post office.
I don't go out unless I'm groomed, but I do dress appropriately for the activity, which often involves dressing down.

Neat clean well-groomed is enough for me 75 days out of a random 100. Sometimes I think someone like this may have a mild self-esteem issue or insecurity that won't allow her to relax.
What is she going to do as she ages; have plastic surgery and fret about how she looks. Hopefully, she will grow old gracefully, and can relax about her looks. Dressing nice and taking care of yourself is great, I do that myself, but overdoing can be a self-esteem issue.
Back in Grandma's time, you didn't go anywhere, grocery store, doctor's office or whatever, without your hat and gloves. It was the proper thing to do.
I know the hat-wearing thing went down the tubes when the Bee Hive hairdos became popular. There simply wasn't any hat that would work. That ended hats for church too.
