ok, it did hurt like heck while the doctor was applying it and left it on for ..........I don't know how long. then he applied cool packs. He didnt use the blue peel and when I left my face was still burning and really pink. By the time I got home and up to now my face is not burning. Not red,not pink, not swollen...............nothing!! Weird. I'm going to see what happens by Monday but if nothing has happened I hope he does something else and or gives me my money back. It's just SO ODD that it has done nothing.

Does something happen immediately afterwards?
I mean, is it SUPPOSED to?
yes, I mean from what the Dr and his nurse said. some swelling, some pain, redness, discomfort for sure.
It is really just tooo weird that something that strong that burned so much in his office has done nothing as of this morning.

I would give it a couple of days, and observe closely.
The skin cells renew...but for results to come apparent, it probably will take a couple of days.
Don't forget....every ones threshold of pain tolerance and skin is different.
You might be able to tolerate so much more pain then me....you take it without really feeling any pain...and I am whimpering like a little baby....lol.
When you go to the doc post-op, he will be able to tell if something is happening.
Good luck 2 U!

How exciting!!! I want a chemical peel so I'm so happy you just got one and you are discussing it with us.
Did the doctor apply it to your face with a fan type of brush? The reason I ask is because I saw on the TV show "Dr. 90210" when he did a chemical peel on a woman and applied the liquid with a fan brush. The women said it felt like a bunch of bee stings when she was getting it done but she was fine when she left his office.
I hope this all works out for you. Thanks for updating us. Oh and what was the name of this peel?
yes Roma, he applied with a brush. He had me keep my eyes closed so I'm not sure what anything looked like really. It stung so bad that a couple pf tears rolled down my face. His nurse wiped them away with a q-tip but it wasn't an unbearable pain.
For the last 2 months I've been using the Obagi system on my face. It could be that due to that the peel isn't doing anything really dramatic. But for real the peel needs to make a difference at some point.
BTW, the Obagi system is wonderful.

Oh and Roma, my peel was the Obagi chemical peel. Normally it's blue so that the doctor can see everywhere he's applied it. But the doctor said he's getting away from using the blue one due to it being hard to get off. Normally it takes 2-3 days for the blue to fade. You can find information at Obagi.com on all the products.
There is no guarantee that you will "see" the results that you "want". That's why there are many, many different options. If you choose to go with a cheaper alternative then you shouldn't be expecting miracles. Actually, you shouldn't be expecting miracles from any product period. Its not like he/she has access to the fountain of youth... I doubt you will get a refund, it costs them money to carry that product and perform that procedure, its not free..
