to get bangs or not?

Some people look better w/bangs, some people do not.

I've had bangs for most of my life-and I prefer how I look with them.
For many years, I gelled them (up off my face) each day.
Several years ago, I quit using styling product & switched to letting them hang down (near my eyebrows).

Yes, they are a hassle to maintain-that is a indeed a drawback.
Since I trim/cut my own hair anyway, I can accept the trade-off.
