I agree. Capris don't look good on everyone, as the potential for looking dumpy is high if you buy the wrong cut/fit. It is easier for taller women to pull it off than people with short legs. I have long thin legs and I think I pull off the look just fine, thankyouverymuch

Slim capris work best. Billowy, wide, or baggy ones will make you look dumpy. Add a great sandal or kitten heels and you'll look fantastic.

It's difficult to decide on this one. I wear capris because there's not much else to choose from. Bermudas? You've GOT to be kidding me! On the other hand, I have a friend who says that after watching an episode of What Not to Wear, she will never wear them again. They may not be the most flattering style, but what do you do when you're not comfortable wearing shorts but want to wear something...well, summery? I have "heavy" legs, which is the reason I don't wear shorts or sun dresses. Just don't have the legs for them.

I'm in the PNW part of the US and lots of women wear capri's... including me! I love them. I like the longer ones... not the ones that hit right below the knee. You might as well wear shorts, plus they give you stubby leg syndrome. Anyway, I like these:
XCVI Loop & Button Crop Pant Chestnut - Zappos.com Free Shipping BOTH Ways

Jag Jeans Gabrielle Cargo Crop Cloud Grey - Zappos.com Free Shipping BOTH Ways

Also cropped jeans like these:
JOE'S 23" ROLLED KICKERS - Jeans - Pants & Shorts - Women | Robert Redford's Sundance Catalog

... but not with any of those shoes! lol

I wear them but I'm tall and get the fitted kind, denim and spandex, that come right to my knee. I don't like them long or baggy. I also don't "do" shorts or sundresses so they are pretty much all I wear when the temp gets high.

I prefer longer ones to ones that hit just below or at the knee...more cropped pants than capris. Whether they are flattering or not depends totally on the cut, the fabric, and how they fall. I'm about 5'10" with long legs, and my proportions work well with cropped pants. They, along with sundresses, make up my summer wardrobe. Shorts are not my thing. I rarely even wear them to exercise in.

Great responses !
I got a pair yesterday at Kohls that hit lower mid calf. They are slim cut. I love them! I have skinny legs so they seem to add some curviness which I like.
I will pair them with my flat sandals and a tank top.

I can't stand capri's...but IMO as someone else said, they can look good on tall, skinny people. Since I'm neither very tall nor skinny I won't venture down that road.

OH - if you have "cankles", capri's don't really look that good. I have an aunt with cankles and she wears these cargo capri's and... it's just not a good look. Capri's look better if you have a toned body, and nice ankles. I'm not tall, but I've got a yoga body (except for my boobs, ) so the capri's seem to work on me. I usually wear them with havaianas in summer or suede flats the rest of the year. I've seen some women here wear them with dankso, and I do love dansko, but I think they look goofy with cropped pants/capris/etc. I think dansko are better with long dark-wash type jeans or tights with skirts.
