She has different fabrics you can choose and different leather... beautiful simple and elegant. The convertable bags that go from backpack to tote are cool, too.
I disagree. Burberry would not go with the soft greens, turquoise, blues and pinks I like to wear in the summer....burberry colors are more appropriate for fall/winter to me.
I think a well made straw or natural material handbag is perfect for most summer wear - Coach, Michael Kors, etc. make some beautiful ones.
I would either go with brave belts Tabitha drawstring bag or Christopher Kon sahiba double handle fold bag. These are lovely pieces and will go with whatever we wear.
I just ordered the purse/hobo tote above in a chocolatey brown leather from Mim's of Maine.
So cool to know that something was made for you, by hand, in the US, and you get to choose all your colors/fabrics/hardware and everything. I love etsy!
Interesting responses! We may not all have the same tastes but fun to hear what you like. Because I'm no longer working, 99% of my wardrobe is casual and in earth tones. I bought a bone colored classic satchel--maybe a little boring but it was just the right size and a good neutral shade. Then at Goodwill I found a brand new with tags Sak crocheted handbag in pretty shades of tan; for $4.99 what a bargain!
The cool thing about Mim's, too, is that each one is made especially for you. You have to wait a bit for your order, but I think it's worth it. I mean... I'd rather have something one-of-a-kind like this that's made by hand in the USA than some mass-produced made in China or wherever that's been shipped over on a cargo ship...
When I was shopping for purses recently, I went to Nordstroms and Macy's and kept checking out the expensive purses they had... they were supposed to be high-quality but when I touched them and tried them out I just felt like a walking advertisement, it felt shallow. I went online... almost bought a Louis Vuitton.... and there was a chanel bag I was considering... but I just didn't feel good about it. SO glad I checked etsy - I'm not even sure what made me think of etsy... just kind of a whim.
