So on March 1st, at 190.7, I began a plan to lose the "last 10" in 6 weeks. Well April 15th, my goal date, is coming around and I'm at 186. Can anyone spare me some tips on how to lose those last 10 pounds? I already do cardio 6 times per week, I lift 3x per week and I eat a healthy 2000 calories. Not sure what else to do. My judgment of how much weight I have left to lose is based on how I look, and basically I feel I have about 10 pounds to lose. While I get that muscle mass causes weight gain and you shouldn't put too much into weight, I'm still feeling that 180 mark. Any advice for those plateauing?

Congratulations on what you've already accomplished.

Sounds as if you've lost four-plus pounds in just under six weeks. I'm assuming you were losing at a faster rate at one time, or you wouldn't be on here with this question, but if you're still losing weight, then you have not really hit a plateau even if you are losing at a slower rate than you used to. So, one answer would be that since you're still losing weight, keep doing what you're doing and be patient.

If you still want to try and speed up the loss of those last few pounds, it's difficult to give advice without knowing more about what you do than the fact that you lift and do cardio, and the frequency of these workouts. Intensity is key in getting the metabolism to rev up. If your lifting involves light weights, try switching to heavy (for you--we're all different in what seems heavy) or at least medium-heavy weights. If your cardio consists of doing whatever exercise at a slow, steady pace, try mixing in some stretches of thirty seconds to a minute at a time where you pick up the pace to a near-sprint. Another possibility might be to combine high-intensity cardio with weight training, by doing weight training on a circuit, with little or no rest between exercises.

If you're already including high-intensity bouts in your cardio and lifting heavy, then it seems you're doing things correctly, so it gets back to being patient.

Try Jillian michaels 30 day shred. Drink more water. Switch up your workouts, for high intensity interval training.
Congrats on your accomplishments!!!

I too need some advice on losing the last 10 lbs-I have lost almost 35 in about the last year and I have plateaued-I do 33 min on eliptical machine and go at it about as hard and fast as anyone.I do at least 100 crunches and some weights and by that time I'm pretty spent. I'm 51 yrs old. When weather permits I ride bike about 13 miles and can swim a mile.Guess I just need to cut more calories??

Quit wasting your energy on crunches. Spend that time on other activities.

Ab workouts have little upside unless you are lean enough for a six pack.

I work on abs, but to strengthen my core since I have a poor lower back.

Core is not synonymous for abs.

If you want a stronger core then add deadlifts, squats, overhead presses, planks, pushups, pullups, dips etc. Core strength comes from full body activities and not crunches or ab machines.

Do you know what your body fat percentage is? I’ve always been told to focus more on BMI rather than weight.
