Hi, I see your post was originally from 2008 but wanted to share... There was a place in Germany named Barten. The town of Barten, Ostpreussen, Preussen was a former German (East Prussia) territory before 1945 and then the town became part of Poland after the German empire fell after the war. The Polish renamed the town Barciany, Olsztyn, Polandhave. It is confusing since many towns and cities changed names when the German empire was split up.
