Do you have to be fluent in Romanian to move there?
My family is from Romania but I no longer know their language. Planning to move there for alittle while with my husband someday, but again, I don't know the language.
Last winter, a 28 dude from South Africa married with a woman from here stayed for a month and he complained about not being able to do many things because of the language.
Before that he was thinking at the possibility of moving definitively to Romania, but the condition of buildings and the insensitivity of people mainly, as well as the language barrier changed his mind, as you can read on his blog: Reillusioned: 100th Post: Back in South Africa
My opinion is that he is a little exagerated about the language and about the buildings but is correct about the runedess and unhappiness of the people.
Nevertheless, staying some months here would a good idea, not for Bucharest itself but for using it as base to explore Romania (other cities are too provincial in atmosphere).
