Chuck E Cheese serves liquor??? (news, Friends, TV, days)

It has been, probably 10 years since I visited a Chuck E Cheese's, but I used to take my son and his friends there often. We always had a delightful time. Kids played, parents chatted. It was wonderful, always a grand day out.
Now I'm hearing that the Brookfield (Wisconsin) Chuck E. Cheese is having MAJOR problems. I live near Brookfield, but like I said, it has been probably 10 years since I visited that restaurant. The problems have even made the national news (how embarrassing)!!! Apparently, adults frequenting the Cheese are getting all liquored up (people here drink waaaaaaaaaay too much) and flat-out brawling in the restaurant. The police have been called there 81 times in the past 16 months . They've even found evidence of drug usage in there .
What the h*ll is wrong with these so-called adults??? They are a disgrace. How dare they behave so ridiculously in a place that is supposed to be a fun and safe place for kids???
But my real question is: Chuck E Cheese sells liquor??? When did that start? I don't remember that from the days when we went.
Funny thing is, when I told my now-teenage son about the problems, the very first question out of his mouth was, "They sell liquor at Chuck E Cheese???" I guess great minds really do think alike .
We always get Beer when we go, I dont know how I could stand 30 minutes or more in there with out it. THey should limit the amount they give out, but it is a place to eat and adults can drink.
It reminds me of the "mommy drinks because you cry" tee I saw recently. Seriously, I wish our Chuck E Cheese served liquor. I would really look forward to a margarita playdate.
There are loads of places where adults can drink if they have to. I just feel that a kids' place shouldn't be one of them. You've got to get in the car and drive those kids home, after all.
I never had a problem being able to endure my time in The Cheese and we spent hours in there, not just 30 minutes. I like kids, though, and really enjoy being around them when they play. The noise and exuberance doesn't bother me in the least. I cherish it -- kids celebrate just being alive! I know the commotion does bother some adults, however, so I'm not unsympathetic to your position.
I should say I rarely drink (maybe 3 glasses of wine a year plus a little champagne at New Year's) and NEVER if I'm going to be around children. I don't preach NO DRINKING to other people (hehe but I do wonder why they can't have a good time without being blitzed ).
IM not saying I get smashed when I got, but myself and the other dads have a few, not so much were it's like a bar. As fas driving home hey what are wifes for
Seriously they should cap the limit on the number of beers you have so you dont get fights breaking out. Maybe hand the adults a card and everytime the get a beer punch out a part til they hit the limit, lets say 3. I dont want my kid to be playing and all of a sudden a chair flys across the room or some one to punch out the big mouse character.

At the Chuck E Cheese we go to they limit you to one drink per hour.
We should be more concerned about the millions of parents who think it's acceptable to bring their children into "bars" rather than worrying about a parent who has a glass of beer while watching their child go hog nuts at a skee ball machine, no?

I'm not being sarcastic. I just never knew anyone would do such a thing. I don't frequent bars so I didn't know parents did that. That's awful.
But, back to Chuck E Cheese, it's supposed to be a place FOR kids. Bars are supposed to be for adults. I still contend that places designed specifically for kids, like the Cheese, should be liquor-free (*dons her flame-retardant suit and helmet*). Especially in Milwaukee, where liquor is worshipped (my opinion) and drinking is totally out of control.
My Godfather used to take me and my brothers to a little corner bar up in Northern NJ alot of times we visited with them. I think his regular bar trip was like sitting in the living room watching tv with his friends. My brothers and I sat there, drank Coke and ate bags of Planter's peanuts. Then we headed back to their house for a big meal and the rest of our visit. We survived!

Thats respectable, I think that it should just be limited. BelizePlease said they limit to 1 drink per hour. I dont really know anyone getting drunk on a beer in 1 hour. I live in the south, so I understand when you say drinking is crazy.

We frequent Buffalo Wild Wings...which in my opinion is WAY more of a bar than a restaurant. The bar area is HUGE...way bigger than the regular "restaurant" tables. There is a lot of drinking going on in the bar...adult talk...yet people still prop their kids up on the barstools so that they can sit in a bar without feeling like they took their kid to a "bona-fide bar"...
It's irritating. We go out to drink beers to be AWAY from people's kids.
