The columns weren't a personal item like clothing. Maybe Obama picked up the idea to use columns from these Virginia Republicans. BTW - Obama's columns were meant to represent Washington, not Greece.

But it will all come out in July 2010 after the takeover is complete and the media is all state run. Secretary of Information Jackson will release his complete and real biography at that time. Yes you are right it will come out on July 4 2010 the day that is no longer a national holiday. Will be very symbolic.
