Veterans Groups Give McCain Failing Grades. In its most recent legislative ratings, the non-partisan Disabled American Veterans gave Sen. McCain a 20 percent rating for his voting record on veterans' issues. Similarly, the non-partisan Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America gave McCain a "D" grade (http://www.iava.org/full-ratings-list - broken link) for his poor voting record on veterans' issues, including McCain's votes against additional body armor for troops in combat and additional funding for PTSD and TBI screening and treatment.

Think that sends a 'chill' through Mrs. McCain's body?

Those grades probably look familiar to McCain- he must have gotten plenty of D's and 20%'s in order to graduate fifth from the bottom of his class, no?
Other than his POW status, there is really nothing troops like about McCain, I am an ex-Navy officer so I have many contacts with active duty in all branches.
They know he is going to keep them at war longer and when they come back they will have less benefits.
The people who are voting for McCain will be the defense contractors, they are the people making bank on this war, troops are getting the shaft.
I'm in the military. Of course I don't speak for everyone in uniform or for the military as a whole, but I'd say it's a mistake to assume that McCain has the military vote locked up. Obama is an attractive candidate, and many of us who truly care about national security appreciate his focus on the Afghanistan-front. It doesn't hurt that Jim Webb, a prominent Democrat, fought to increase our educational benefits substantially, even though it was opposed by most of the GOP -- including McCain't going to win.
