Nice to see the typical obama format response in place though. What a joke. McCain's a joke. Palin's a joke. etc.etc.etc.
Why not investigate McCain as well then. The money coming in to him is more questionable in my opinion . . . who in their right mind would support such a poorly-run, inept campaign?

I guess following laws doesn't matter? "alleging it has accepted donations that exceed federal limits as well as illegal contributions from foreigners."

Do you think your Messiah is above the law?

McCain Campaign Finance Violations Go to the FEC - The Seminal :: Independent Media and Politics
When McCain’s campaign was about to go broke over the winter, he got a line of credit from a bank. He had already applied for public financing. But when his fundraising got better, McCain declared that he was withdrawing from the public financing program.

The DNC lawsuit says he can’t do that — because he had already made financial use of his access to public funds. The Democrats point out that McCain’s campaign manager guaranteed to the bank that McCain could qualify for public money in the future.

notice he was broke. He escaped by one vote.

McCain Gets a Bye from FEC Lawyers - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/cq/20080814/pl_cq_politics/politics2938164 - broken link)
Attorneys for the Federal Election Commission (FEC) have recommended giving Republican presidential candidate John McCain a pass on his decision earlier this year to withdraw from the federal public financing program for his campaign for the GOP nomination.

Me thinks McCain got Bushwacked by the brother and now it is biting him in his increasingly thin wallet.

If there is one thing I have learned from THIS election...that is candidates should not throw stones when they are all standing in glass houses!

Word to McCain...be careful.
Word to luzianne...he is nobody's "Messiah" except yours as it is YOU who keeps calling him by that.

The problem is that financing laws are written to cover large donations. Not widely participating fund raising like Obama is getting. Are you going to restrict donations to over $1,000 so only the wealthy can participate? That would make tracking it easier. For all we know those donations were and are dirty tricks done by Republicans for just this purpose.

Speaking of Messiahs, luzianne, check out your compatriots in minutes :30 - 3:30 at the Republican Convention last August as they screamed hosannas to their own new savior / Messiatrix.

It is either Bush's fault or because Obama is black.

The funny thing about this thread is that THERE IS NO ONE TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH. A few months ago McCain's campaign borrowed money and used the "guarantee of public financing if he was unable to pay it back" (this is the very short version of the full story) in a DEMONSTABLY CLEAR violation of campaign finance laws. Hmmm, that sounds odd as we all know that nothing in the law is very CLEAR.

Anyway to help out his buddy, the head of the Federal Election Commission resigned, and Bush put up NO NAMES for replacement. End result, no fully staffed board of the FRC, no one to hear complaints.

What goes around, comes around.

I guess Phil Graham (R/UBS-Paine Weber) was (partially) right.
