Introducing John McCain at the Clinton Global Initiative in Manhattan, Bill Clinton doesn't mention that he's endorsed another candidate.

"When most people in his party were thinking that global warming was overstated and maybe even a myth designed to help people like me who love solar and wind get into it, he decided to look into it," Clinton said, recalling McCain's and Hillary Clinton's trips to the Arctic.

“The point I want to make is there aren’t any votes on this in Arizona,” Clinton said. “He just wanted to know. That’s what we want from everybody. John McCain wants to know and I am profoundly grateful to him for coming here today.”

It was nothing more than a token gesture from Clinton just like McCain gave his token compliment to Clinton before he starts to slam the Democrats.
Of course I can see the republicans are going to milk this for everything they can.

Would what Monica Lewinsky gave Bill Clinton in the Oval Office also be considered a token gesture?

Just further specific evidence about how well he is respected by the Democrats.

Also amplifies some of the differences between Bush and McCain, global warming and stem cells for starters.

Bill Clinton opened his Global Initiative’s annual meeting in New York on Thursday with high praise for Republican presidential nominee John McCain as well as his rival Barack Obama.

Introducing McCain at the gathering, Clinton pointed out that his wife Hillary and McCain took a congressional delegation on a climate change fact-finding mission to Alaska.

“I want to say one thing in particular about John McCain in bringing him out here,” Clinton said.

“When most people in his party were thinking that global warming was overstated … he decided to look into it.

This is four times now in the past two days. All those still pissed off about what happened to Hiallry are about to jump ship. If you did not know any better, it appears the Clintons are damn near endorsing McCain. Old Willy has had nothing but praise for McCain and rightfully so. He is a highly respectible person.

Remember, it is rumored that McCain actually spoke with Clinton about being his running mate. It is rumored she gave it a lot of thought, but then declined based on her partys overall best interest. Hillary and McCain are not as far apart politically as most people think. Hillary is rather conservative for a 2008 democrat.
