What is your opinion?

If it "seems" it would be more accurate why do you seem to have difficulty asserting your more accurate assessment to refute the authors statements?

If you think federal tax receipts provides a basis for state govt analysis, I don't think you even have the starting point for a discussion.

Typical of your responses. How did I know you wouldn't refute the authors claim, but issue a directive regarding my knowledge of the authors claim in an effort to assert your superiority on the issue without backing it up with data. I suppose the author is factually correct unless you can prove the assertions wrong. They are sourced, direct quotes. I await the benefit of your superior intellect.

Of all the lies posted on this thread, this is by far the biggest one yet. Alaska has no state income tax at all. That is zero, nadda, none! for the poster to equate higher wages, thus higher FEDERAL income taxes to Sarah Palin is, well, wow!

In addition Alaska has no sales tax and amoung the lowest personal property taxes in the US. It only costs $200 to register a vehicle for 2 years! They have the lowest unemployment in the US. and you get $3,300 per person a year to live there for free from the government. YOU GET PAID TO LIVE THERE BY THE GOVERNMENT.

walidm, you are a liar at the highest level! And you're a realtor? I might have to look into your ethics as a licensed agent.

This was the biggest lie spread on this forum to date and I believe the moderators to remove it.

Default Hmmm....

digusting! "I lived in Alaska for 33 years. You are a liar! why not debate based on real issues? There are plenty of them to go round. Alaskan's don't pay anything in taxes! A family of 4 will get $13,300 from the Government tomorrow deposited into their bank accounts. There is no state tax.

What a piece of crap you are. Have fun selling homes buddy!"

Interesting.
Where do you see a reference to a State Tax? Did you read the thread.

I suspect you didn't. Did you read the article? I suspect you didn't. Please re-read the quotes and respond accordingly. If you wish to refute the authors claim you are welcome to do so; however, it does you no justice rant and rave when you didn't read the post in the first place. And it's easy to see you didn't read it from your response - .

Wow, this guy is over the top! Posting stuff I never said? WTF? Will you cease to do anything to get attention? Unbelievable! You're a realtor? For real? I think you should be working at some seedy used car delaership. Might be more appropriate.

3) She vetoed nearly $500 million, and you claim ONLY 2% of the budget, great, imagine if she helps to veto 2% of the federal budget how much money we'll save. You dont think 2% out of a budget is worthy of discussion?
mmm...Nope, that's what you did.

I quoted the author, sourced the data and asked if the lower 48 was ready for a similar structure. You didn't read, you reacted.

I didn't "fail" to list the State taxes. I didn't list them.

I don't claim she vetoed anything. The author does and you don't like the claim, can you refute the data presented?

Maybe the 2% out of the budget is worthy of discussion, it's part of the thread topic. What more about it do you wish to discuss? You've certainly expressed it was "great", duly noted. Was there more?

"Governor Palin has said she vetoed "nearly $500 million" in state spending during her two years as governor. "This amounts to less than 2% of the proposed budget."[1]

Did you tell on yourself? I certainly see no reference to the poster who sent the DM in either the message or response.

"Governor Palin has said she vetoed "nearly $500 million" in state spending during her two years as governor. "This amounts to less than 2% of the proposed budget."[1]

Perhaps you can share with us the effects, positive or otherwise, of the Governors decisions on you, one of her constituents.

You started this thread with the notion that because Alaskan's make decent wages and therefore pay more federal incomes taxes that somehow this is a bad mark for Palin. You know it! That is a total 100% lie! It is not even misleading, it is just a lie, smear. Palin has nothing to do with FEDERAL INCOME TAXES!

The fact is, Alaskans pay less taxes then anywhere and Palin reduced it even further. You don't get an 88% approval rating, taxing people. She lowered all government expenses and taxes and people LOVE HER FOR IT. 97% of all Alaskan's get far more back from the goverment then they ever pay into it!

I've been through these discussions with you in other threads, posting stuff you don't critically evaluate yourself and then expecting others to do your work. Recall the thread where you were giving credit to Obama for introducting to the Senate multiple bills that had already been completed by the House of Representatives?

Once again, your original posting doesn't substantiate anything having to do with Palin being a tax problem for folks at all, actually it proves the opposite of your claim (which you would have known had YOU actually read your own referenced articles):

Alaska residents each get a yearly check for about $2,000 from oil revenues, plus an additional $1,200 pushed through by Palin last year to take advantage of rising oil prices.

See, she takes the additional happenstance revenue and gives it to the folks to spend as they see fit, instead of keeping the money herself, just what one would like to see a true leader.
