It looks like Palin's sister is not the "hunter" that Palin herself claims to be. Apparently she won a "moose lottery" of some kind and was granted a license to kill a moose. The license is non transferable and had an expiration date on it. On the last day, Palin's father told the sister not to waste the license and to go out and find a moose to shoot and the sister and her husband (the trooper) went out and found a moose to shoot but the sister stated that she did not want to kill the moose so the husband took the gun and killed the moose which is a technical violation of the law that he promised to uphold. Later, Sara Palin demand that he be fired but the union said that he had already been disciplined for it.

That is only one of the four incidents mentioned in the article that were proven violations:
• Wooten used a Taser on his stepson.
• He illegally shot a moose.
• He drank beer in his patrol car on one occasion.
• He told others his father-in-law would "eat a f'ing lead bullet" if he helped his daughter get an attorney for the divorce.

The other 9 were not proven. Your post seems to imply that he was fired for the moose violation and that is misleading.

Any ONE of these should have been enough.

Just to clarify, Palin, as Governor, wanted this Wooten guy, who was her sister's ex husband out of the state troopers for these violations. Wooten and the Union apparently are forcing an investigation of her force pressing the firing of Wooten.

All that other stuff was minor stuff (the step son asked to be tased and the beer in the patrol car was off duty). The moose thing was the big thing. And he has not been fired. His boss was fired for not firing him.

You know. I lent my car to someone who emailed me to tell me about that she made a "minor" scratch. It turned out to be a 2 foot scrape which the prevents my entire locking system from working.

What is minor to some, might be major to someone else.

What if the step son had a seizure or heart attack or stroke? How old was this step son? What if the patrol car was in an accident? Off duty what was he doing in it? Besides drinking beer? He should have been fired for any ONE of the violations.
