This is the same poll that had McCain in the lead among likely voters in their last poll...no longer:

Quote:
Obama holds a 47%-43% edge over McCain among registered voters and a 48%-45% edge among likely voters. Both leads are within the margins of error of +/— 4 percentage points.

In the USA TODAY/Gallup Poll a month ago, Obama led McCain by 3 points but McCain held a 4-point lead among likely voters.

On McCain, four in 10 worry he is too old to be president — he turns 72 on Friday — and 67% say they're concerned he'll pursue policies too similar to Bush. Nearly half of respondents, 48%, say McCain has attacked Obama unfairly, compared with 30% who say Obama has unfairly attacked McCain

Rasmussen (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll - broken link) shows Obama with a 3% lead.

Right, but the title of your thread was USA TODAY/GALLUP POLL: OBAMA BACK IN THE LEAD. We are not talking about Rasmussen.

The Gallup tracking poll that you cite and the subject of my post..the USA Today/Gallup poll, are two different polls.

• On Obama, half of those surveyed worry he "may be too closely aligned with people who hold radical political views," and 57% say they're concerned he lacks the experience to be an effective president. Basically unchanged since June: 53% say he can handle the responsibilities of commander in chief; 44% say he can't.
This will trump age any day.

Quote:
Among the not-fully-persuaded: Many of the voters who supported New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic primaries. Just under half, 47%, now say they back Obama and won't change their minds. One in five, 23%, say they're supporting Obama now but may switch.

And 30% are say they'll vote for McCain, another candidate or no one at all.
Ouch! That will hurt. Only half say the will for sure vote for obama.

So basically, the polls are tied. In the CNN poll, Obama lost 7 points - that is now a tie as well.
Face it bots, he has lost support he once had. The trend is the SAME across a variety of polls. You cannot deny it.

This just proves that Obama doesn't need Hillary PUMAs. Even without them, he's still kicking ass!

Yeah, hes really been sticking it to them the past few weeks. NOT!

The only people doing the "ass" kicking are the American people. They are refusing to blindly follow the mass of media outlets and celebrities who have blindly supported Obama. I say, way to go America. At least 45% of you are thinking for yourselves.

We'll see, but it's not just age troubling McCain, it appears the Democrat's charge of McCain=Bush is gaining some traction:

Quote:
67% say they're concerned he'll pursue policies too similar to Bush.

It's only going to get worse for him once the debating starts, and it becomes obvious that Obama isn't suited to run a general store, let alone the USA.
